Why it matters
If the BTU size is far away from the room load, the system may be oversized or undersized. That is why BTU estimates should be checked carefully.
Example
A calculator may suggest a range such as 9,000 to 12,000 BTU for a room. That does not mean the final answer is automatic; it means the room deserves closer review in that range.
BTU and common mini split sizes
Mini splits are sold in standard BTU sizes. BTU capacity is a rating, not a complete sizing decision — the right size for a room depends on many factors including insulation, climate, ceiling height, and sun exposure.
